Connecting to Cursor

How the Cursor Connection works

The Cursor connection uses a Cursor Admin API Key to gather cost and usage data for your organization. CloudZero ingests per-user usage events, billing group membership, and daily usage data, so you can view, track, and forecast your Cursor costs broken down by user, billing group, model, and repository.

After you create your connection, at the time of the next data ingestion, you will see your Cursor costs and usage throughout the CloudZero platform, including in Explorer and Analytics.

Supported Cursor Plans

The Cursor connection requires a Cursor Enterprise plan. Cursor's Admin API and its per-repository attribution feature are Enterprise-only.

ℹ️

Teams plan customers may be able to use this connection with reduced accuracy. Cost data broken down by user, billing group, and model will still be captured, but per-repository attribution and other Enterprise-only data will be missing.

Prerequisites for the Cursor Connection

Before you can connect CloudZero to Cursor, you must have the following:

  1. A Cursor Enterprise plan account. Teams plans may work with reduced accuracy — see Supported Cursor Plans.
  2. Team administrator access on the Cursor team you want to connect.
  3. The ability to create a Cursor Admin API Key.
ℹ️

Only Cursor team administrators have the authority to create Admin API Keys.

To connect CloudZero to Cursor, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a Cursor Admin API Key.
  2. Create the Cursor connection in CloudZero.

Step 1: Create a Cursor Admin API Key

  1. Sign in to your Cursor account and open the Cursor Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Admin API Keys.
  3. Select Create New Key and give it a descriptive name, for example, CloudZero Integration.
  4. Copy the generated key immediately and store it securely. Cursor will not display it again.

Step 2: Create the Cursor Connection in CloudZero

  1. In CloudZero, navigate to Cloud Integrations and select Add Connection.
  2. Select the Cursor tile and select Get Started.
  3. Enter a connection name.
  4. Enter the Admin API Key you created earlier.
  5. Select Connect.

After CloudZero processes the first ingest of billing and usage data, the connection Status will change from Pending Data to Healthy.
