Budgets

You can now create and edit Budgets directly in CloudZero without a CSV round-trip. Pick a View, set your period, and enter amounts in one of three modes: same amount each month, split a total evenly, or custom per month. Budget and Forecast appear on the same row for a clearer picture, and the page now defaults to Views that have a Budget or Forecast configured.

Dimension Studio

Regex patterns in Matches conditions are now validated at publish time, so rules that would silently fail downstream are caught before they go live.

Access Controls

Dynamic Role Filtering is now available in Labs. Create RBAC roles that dynamically resolve filter values from a user's SSO/OIDC claims at login, eliminating the need to maintain separate hardcoded roles for every team. Map any CloudZero dimension to an OIDC claim name and let a single role adapt per user. As a safe default, users whose SSO token is missing the expected attribute see no data.

Improved

- Time Series Comparison: A new aligned comparison view pairs base and compared period bars side by side in each time bucket, with a percent-of-change column in the results table. The comparison side panel shows period summaries, editable date ranges, and custom range suggestions. The overlay uses distinct solid and dashed line styles with a redesigned tooltip showing cost differences and per-service breakdowns. Column headers now read "Base Cost" and "Compare Cost" for clarity, the date picker uses refined calendar styling with range highlights, and the chart provides separate bar and line toggle buttons with distinct icons for quick picks versus custom ranges. Available in CZ Labs.

  • AI Signals: AI spend can now be allocated and grouped by the business-context fields in your telemetry, so you can break down AI costs by attributes like provider, host, or application.

  • Explorer: Monthly cost charts now display month names like 'Jun 26' instead of numeric dates on the x-axis, making monthly data clearly distinguishable from daily or weekly views.

  • Anomalies: Brand-new cost series are now evaluated for anomalies on their first day of spend, so unexpected charges on newly appearing services are detected immediately.

  • Dimension Studio: Deleting a dimension that other dimensions reference is now blocked with a clear error naming each dependent dimension, preventing accidental disruption to cost allocation.

  • AWS Connection: Manual connection setup instructions now include both required CloudZero account IDs in the IAM trust policy, ensuring all ingestion workflows can access your data.

  • Explorer: When no cloud provider is connected, the empty state now prompts you to set up a connection instead of displaying a misleading "waiting for cost data" message.

  • AI Signals: Missing session context tags are now recovered automatically across processing batches, improving cost allocation accuracy for AI workloads.

  • AI Signals: Detailed prompt content is no longer surfaced in AI cost data, preventing unintended exposure of session context submitted by end users.

  • Explorer: K8s CPU and Memory Efficiency columns no longer show dashes for loaded workloads when grouping by Workload; the efficiency fetch is now scoped to the visible result set.

Fixed

- Explorer: The Account Name dimension now only appears for organizations with compatible billing data, so it no longer shows as an empty option for other accounts.

  • macOS Collector: MDM-managed devices now silently adopt the delivered proxy configuration instead of repeatedly prompting for approval, so managed deployments complete without manual steps.

  • SSO Integrations: Valid API requests containing base64-encoded authentication tokens are no longer intermittently rejected, eliminating sporadic errors during login and session flows.

  • Optimize: Filtering realized savings by custom dimensions no longer fails when the dimension was added after the initial data cache was populated, so all configured dimensions are now usable as filters.

  • AWS Connection: Automated resource connections no longer fail with an access-denied error during the CloudFormation template step.

  • Explorer: Drill-down links now preserve your selected date range and filters instead of resetting to defaults when opened in a new tab.

  • Explorer: Cost values in the results table are no longer truncated with an ellipsis in Firefox, so you always see the full number regardless of browser.

  • Telemetry Streams: The API Example modal now links to the correct documentation page and shows the proper request payload structure, so copied examples work as expected.

  • Explorer: Filters added through the sidebar panel are no longer dropped when changing the Group By selection, matching the behavior of the inline filter bar.

  • AI Signals: The live telemetry stream no longer stalls when a single organization generates high event volume, ensuring real-time data flows reliably for all customers.

  • AI Signals: Historical data backfills no longer stall the live usage stream, so real-time data continues flowing while repairs run in the background.

  • AI Signals: Usage aggregation windows now fire based on server timestamps instead of producer clocks, preventing stale producer timestamps from freezing the live stream.

  • Optimize: Account-level and region-level recommendations now display the specific target service instead of listing every service in the scope, so you can quickly identify which service to act on.

  • Optimize: The GCS bucket AutoClass recommendation now excludes buckets with significant cold-storage data, preventing suggestions that could trigger unexpected retrieval charges.

  • Dimension Studio: Dimension requests submitted while a build is in progress are now reliably queued instead of being silently dropped.

  • AI Signals: AI usage data that could be silently skipped during processing is now reliably captured, preventing gaps in cost reporting.

  • AI Signals: Bookmarked URLs using relative date presets like "Last 72 Hours" now recalculate the window at load time instead of replaying stale absolute dates.

  • Explorer: Filter values with leading whitespace are now preserved correctly, so deep links and drill-downs to dimension values that begin with a space no longer fail to match.
